Incumbent county officeholders held off their GOP challengers, but in an open seat for Dallas County Circuit Clerk, Republicans Carolyn Gamble and Shawna May will head to a runoff in three weeks.

Gamble earned 421 votes to May’s 400, while Jean Lexington finished third with 319 votes.

Todd Roark was victorious in his bid for Fordyce Mayor. He topped Wayne Stacy by a 287-178 vote.

Incumbent County Judge Chris Stanfield defeated James “Buddy” Medlin by a 1,000-144 vote margin.

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Knoedl was re-elected with 900 votes to Joshua McMullen’s 260 votes.

Lauren Samantha Franks received 122 votes to Orville Roy Butler’s 70 votes in the Justice of the Peace, District 8 race.

In statewide and Congressional election results, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., and Democrat Hallie Shoffner will square off in the general election against Libertarian Jeff Wadlin.

Republican Secretary of State candidates Bryan Norris and Kim Hammer will face off in a runoff on March 31 with the winner facing Democrat Kelly Grappe and Libertarian Michael Pakko.

GOP Secretary of State Cole Jester defeated Christian Olson in their primary for Commissioner of State Lands. Jester will run against Libertarian Christopher Olson in the November general election.

In the Fourth District Congressional race, U.S.  Rep. Bruce Westerman, R-Hot Springs, will face Democrat James “Rus” Russell, who defeated Steven O’Donnell in their primary match-up.

And in the Democratic primary for governor, Sen. Fred Love, D-Little Rock, beat Supha Xayprasith-Mays and will face incumbent Republican Gov. Sarah Sanders and Libertarian Colt Shelby.

Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Nick Bronni defeated attorney John Adams.
