Shirley Faye York, age 90, of Thornton, Arkansas, died Monday, February 23, 2026 at St. John’s Place in Fordyce.

She was born June 17, 1935 in Calhoun County Arkansas.

York was a homemaker and member of Harmony Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Era Preston Benson and Julia Rae Paulman Benson; husband, Max York and one daughter, Kathy Resendiz.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Cummings of Little Rock; one brother, Jerry Joe Benson of Huttig; three grandchildren, Max Hillman of MO, Bradley Hillman of Hot Springs, and Angela Hatridge of Camden; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, at Calaway Cemetery near Thornton with Rev. Steve Flemming officiating.
