Larry “Joe” Gilbert, age 76, of Bearden, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce, Arkansas.

He was born March 13, 1949 in Harrell, Arkansas.

Gilbert was a retired shipping clerk for Bearden Lumber Company and served in the Army National Guard.

He is preceded in death by parents, Johnny Gilbert and Gladys Cochran Gilbert; two brothers, Jerry and Donnie Gilbert; and two sisters, Jean Mulligan and Gail Byrd-Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Carole “Cinda” Gilbert of Bearden; two sons, Jason (Kelli) Gilbert and Michael (Anita) Gilbert and family, all of Hampton; two daughters, Lori (Kirby) Bryant of Camden and Michelle (Tommy) Wilson and family of Hampton; one sister-in-law, Beverly Gilbert of Springhill, LA; one brother-in-law, Ben Cathey of IN; six grandchildren, Lane, Leland, and Laken Gilbert and Halley, Houston, and Miley Bryant; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Bryant; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at Faustina Baptist Church in Hampton. Funeral services began at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Rickey Smith officiating. Burial was at Faustina Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
