Meta Wright, age 66, of New Edinburg, Arkansas, a beloved mother, Mimi, aunt, friend and lifelong member of Smith Chapel Church, passed away at her home on Monday, March 23, 2026.

She was born in Fordyce, AR, on March 9, 1960, to James and Lillian Russell. She was a graduate of Kingsland High School, where she was a proud Lady Greyhound basketball player.

Wright was an employee of the Cleveland County School District for over 20 years where she served many roles, with her favorite being the elementary secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, James Earl Martindale; her brothers, Jim and Andy Russell; and her lifelong friend Beverly Stewart.

She was survived by her children, Jack and Donna Martindale, Rachel and Will Reaves, and Jake Wright. She was the Mimi of Dixie Martindale, Thomas, Julie, and Jase Reaves, as well as aunt to many loved ones.

Wright was a creator all her life, be that cakes, cooking, or crafts. She loved spending time with her family, reading and snuggling with her cat, Gracie. She was an avid Razorback fan who loved to call the Hogs, “Woo Pig Sooie.”

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28th at Smith Morgan Cemetery in Smith Chapel. Wear your razorback shirts if you have them.
