Joy Lynn Lisemby of New Edinburg entered into the glory of heaven on Thursday, June 11, 2026 after a valiant cancer battle.

She was born April 4, 1959 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Keith Lisemby; her parents, Robert L. Guillotte and Edlynn Hope Guillote; two heaven-born babies; and one heaven-born grandbaby, Jordan.

She was a devoted wife of 44 years and a master in the art of smocking and embroidery. Always smiling, often goofy, having the words “I can’t,” and kown as “Mom” at summer camp, she faithfully served alongside her husband sharing the joy of Christ anywhere and everywhere. Her ministry included American Sign Language, missions, youth camps, evangelism worldwide and domestic, children’s ministry through her own business in children’s books, and speaking with other cancer survivors. Her dedication is a lasting legacy.

She is survived by her six daughters, Kristen Lisemby Rosener (Lee) of Maumelle, Melody Lisemby Deal (Colbey) of Edmond, OK, Mercy Lisemby-Wells (Rivers) of Rossville, GA, Brooklyn Lisemby of New Edinburg, Jamie Lisemby Shepherd (Joshua) of Monticello, and Noel Lisemby of New Edinburg; eight grandchildren, Nathan James, Selah Elizabeth, Lily Eden, Jaren Thomas, Daniel Walker, Jeremiah Joel, Micah Watson, and Lynnly Rivers; brothers, Robert Guillotte (Gail) of Moss Bluff, LA, Bill Guillotte (Leslie) of Moss Bluff, LA, Scott Guillotte of Andalusia, AL; Brandon Guillotte of Longville, LA; sisters, Maleia Blanchette of Cameron, LA and Laurianne Guillotte of Moss Bluff, LA.

Her Going Home service was held Monday, June 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Union Baptist Church at Monticello, AR with Rev. Jimmy Owen officiating. Burial services were private.
